Join Jan in Celebrating more than 50 Years
of making pottery!

Jan Pacifico has been wrestling clay around for 50 years. She started making pots in college in 1963 and has never looked back. It was an instant love affair with the clay, so after college she studied full time on a Max Beckman scholarship at the Brooklyn Museum Art School while going to Pratt Institute for her Master of Science degree in art education with a major in Ceramics. She has taken many workshops and studied with many potters to perfect her art. She opened her first studio, Home Cooking Pottery, in Brooklyn, NY, in 1969 and started teaching and selling her work. She sold in many fine stores such as Pottery Barn, Brentano’s, Macy’s and Bloomingdales. She had galleries at Pier 17 in Manhattan and on Court Street in Brooklyn before relocating to New Mexico where she has lived since 1991. Jan is known for her functional stoneware as well as decorative crystalline glazed porcelain.
